Booster seats on the rear seat
Children who a re about 7 years and o lde r, who weigh more than 55
lbs. (25 kg) and are not taller than 4'11" (1.5 m) are best protected
when properly restra ined on the rear seat .
Due to limited rea r seat head clearance children 4'3" (1.3 m) and
t alle r mus t not use boos t er seats on the rear sea t of your Audi TT
Coupe . The rear sea t of your Audi TT Coupe has been spec ially
designed to permit children who a re between 4'3" (1.3 m) an d 4'1 1"
(1. 5 m) tall (about 7 t o 12 years old) t o use the ava ilab le th ree -point
lap and shou lde r safety belts.
& WARNING
The rear seat area is too small to safely transport passengers
tallerthan4 '11 " (1.5 m).
Persons taller than 4'11 " (1.5 m) as well as children in booster
seats who are too close to the rear window and roof can suffer
severe head and neck injuries when the rear lid is closed or in a
crash.
The minimum clearance between the pass engers ' heads and
the rear window must never - under any circumstances - be less
than 1 inch (2.5 cm.) when the pass engers sits fully upright.
Always make sure that the rear seat passengers cannot be
struck when the rear lid is closed .
Booster seats on the front seat
Children aged about 7 years and older and weighing more than 55 lbs
(2 5 kg) who a re be twee n 4 '3" (1.3 m) and 4' 11 " (1. 5 m) ta ll may in
exceptio na l circumstances ride on the front passenger's seat. Chil-
dren les s t han 4 ' 9" (1.4 m) tall mus t sit on a cert ified boos t er sea t
and properly wear the veh icle's three-point lap and shoulder safety
be lt.
Always se curely latch t he passe nger seat at the very rear of it s fo re
and aft adjustment range. The back rest must be adjusted to an
uprigh t position.
& WARNING
If you must install a booster seat child restraint on the front
pas senger seat:
Make sure the booster seat has been designed and certified by
its manufacturer for use on a front seat with a passenger front and
side airbag .
Always follow the manufacturer 's instructions provided with
the booster seat .
Always move the passenger seat to the very rear of its fore and
aft adjustment range, as far away from the airbag as possible .
Always make sure that the passenger seat is securely latched in
place befo re installing the booster seat . The backrest must be
adju sted to an upright position .
If the passenger seat cannot be securely latched in the very rear
of its fore and aft adju stment range , then the pas senger front
airbag must be turned off with the ON/ OFF switch .
