You con operate many Infotainment functions
conveniently by speaking.

Requirement: the ignition and the MM! must be
switched on i::> page 95, there must be no phone
call in progress and the parking system must not
be active.

and say the desired command after the Beep .

Switching off : press and hold the 5:1 bu tton .
Or: say the command Cance l.
.. Pau se: say the command Pau se. To resume,
press the 1 0° 1 bu tton .

say the command Corr ec t.
Input assistance
The system gui des you through the input with
visual
and audio feedback .

voice
recognit i on, a display with a selection of
poss ible commands appears . The command
display can be sw i tched on/off u nder I MENU !>

input assistanc e: to have the poss ible
commands read, turn t he voice recognition sys-
tem on and say Help.

For the system to under s tand you:
Speak clearly and distinct ly at a n orma l volu me .
Speak louder when driving fas ter.

mphasi ze the words in the comma n ds evenly
and do not leave l ong pauses .
Do not speak a command when the voi ce recogni·
tion system is making an announcement.
Close the doors, the wi ndows and the sunroof* to
reduce background noise. Make sure that passen-
gers are not speaking when you are giving a voice
command .
Only u se the system from the driver's seat be-
cause the hands free microphone is directed t o·
ward that seat .
Additiona l settings
Additional settings such as individual s peech
t rai ning to your voice, Command displ ay or vol-
ume of s poken prompts can be adjusted u nder
IMENUI >Se tting s> left control button> MMI
settings > Speech dialog sy stem .

plete contro l over your vehicle in all traffic
situations .

Do not use the voice recognition system in
emergencies becau se your voice may change
in stressful situations. It may take longer to
dial the number or the system may not be
ab le to dial it at all. Dial t he emergency
number manually .
@ Tips
- The dialog pauses when the re is an incom-
ing phone call and will continue if you ig-
nore the call. The dialog ends if you answer
the ca l l.
- Navigation messages and traffic announce·
ments* are not made during a dialog.

You can select an item in the list using ei-
ther the voice recognition system or the
control knob .
