Opening navigation

The navigation system directs you to your destination, around traffic incidents and on alternative
routes, if desired.

After opening
the Nav i gat ion menu, the Enter

tainment system display with the following infor-
mat ion:

If you have connected a cell phone with the MMI,
your directory contacts will also be listed if they
have navigation data assigned to them.
Your favorites @) and directory contacts are only
displayed
in the Enter des tin ation menu when
you have entered one or more l etters using the
input field.
Map preview
- Sel ect an en t ry from the list.
When se lecting an entry from the list, the corre-
spond ing dest i nat ion will always be show n to you
as a map preview ® ~ fig. 114.
Switching betw ee n the destination entry a nd
th e map
- Press the I NAV/MAPI button repeatedly until
the map is displayed. Or: select the l eft control
button > Switch to map.

- The demands of tr affic require your full at-
ten tion. Read and follow the guide li nes pro-
vided in r:!;> page 95 .
- Obey all t r aff ic laws when driving.
- The r
oute calculated by the navigation sys-
tem is a r ecommendation for reaching your
destination. Obey tr affic lights, stopp ing re-
strictions, one -way streets, lane change re-
strictions, etc.

- If the driving directions conflict with tr affic
laws, obey
the t raffic laws.
- Adjust the
volume of t he navigation system
so signals from outside t he vehicle, such as
police
and fire sirens, can be heard clearly at
all times .
