This document is a user manual for the SNAN 28 Inch Propane Gas Fire Pit Table, Model: HF28192. It provides instructions for assembly, operation, maintenance, and storage, along with important safety warnings and a troubleshooting guide.

Function Description:

The SNAN 28 Inch Propane Gas Fire Pit Table is an outdoor appliance designed to provide heat and ambiance using a standard 20 lb. propane cylinder. It functions as a gas fire pit, producing a flame for warmth and aesthetic appeal. The appliance is intended for outdoor use only and should not be used for cooking or in enclosed spaces.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Fuel Type: Propane gas.
  • Cylinder Type: Standard 20 lb. propane cylinder (not included).
  • Propane Supply System: Propane vapor withdrawal supply system.
  • Cylinder Requirements:
    • Must be constructed and marked in accordance with U.S. Department of Transportation (D.O.T) Specifications for LP-Gas Cylinders, or the standard for Cylinders, Spheres and Tubes for Transportation of Dangerous Good and Commission, CAN/CSA -B339.
    • Must be provided with a cylinder connection device compatible with the appliance's connection.
    • Must include a collar to protect the cylinder valve.
    • Must be provided with a listed overfill protection device (OPD).
    • Never fill beyond 80 percent full.
    • Designed to use a CGA No. 791 QCC connection.
  • Gas Supply Pressure: 25 to 250 PSI.
  • Ignition: Electronic igniter button.
  • Burner: Stainless steel burner.
  • Construction: Features table legs, panels, a door, a tank holder/base, and a control knob.
  • Included Accessories: Lava rocks (1 BOX).
  • Model Number: HF28192.

Usage Features:

  • Assembly: The manual provides detailed assembly instructions, starting with placing the fire pit table upside down on a soft surface. It involves attaching table legs to the fire table with screws and washers, connecting panels to the table legs, installing the tank holder/base, and placing the control knob on the valve stem. The door is hung on circular mounts.
  • Propane Tank Installation: A standard 20 lb. propane tank (not included) is placed into the tank holder/base and secured with a wing screw. The regulator is then attached to the cylinder valve by turning the coupling nut clockwise.
  • Lighting Instructions:
    1. Press and hold the electronic igniter button.
    2. Turn the burner control to the high position, press and hold in.
    3. Once the burner lights, release the electronic igniter button.
    4. Continue to depress the burner control knob for 30 seconds, then release. If the flame goes out, repeat.
    5. Adjust flame height with the burner control knob.
    6. If the electronic igniter fails, a lit long match or butane lighter can be used to light the ignition area.
  • Shut Down: To turn off the burner, turn the burner control knob clockwise to the "OFF" position, then turn off the gas at the source (propane cylinder valve).
  • Initial Lighting: A slight odor may be present during the first use due to the "burn-in" of internal paints and lubricants. Running the main burner on high for about half an hour will resolve this.
  • Safety Features:
    • Excess flow device on the propane cylinder.
    • Thermocouple safety (do not bypass).
    • Warnings against using the appliance in rain, with a damaged burner, or with debris in the burner area.
    • Instructions to keep children and flammable materials away from hot surfaces.
    • Emphasis on proper installation and maintenance by qualified service personnel.

Maintenance Features:

  • Regular Inspection (At least annually):
    • Check for spiders, spider webs, or other insects.
    • Ensure unobstructed airflow in controls, burner, and circulating air passageways.
    • Inspect the burner for cracks, insect nests, excessive corrosion, or other damage. Replace damaged burners with manufacturer-specified parts.
    • Inspect the hose assembly for excessive abrasion, wear, or damage before each use. Replace if damaged.
  • Cleaning:
    • Keep the control compartment, burners, and circulating air passageways clean.
    • Clean burner holes using a heavy-duty pipe cleaner or compressed air to remove particles.
    • Clean reflector, thermocouple, and emitter screen with a dry cloth if carbon deposits develop.
    • Clean out the venturi tube if clogged.
  • Leak Testing: All leak tests must be done with a soapy solution. NEVER use an open flame to check for leakage.
  • Storage (Between uses):
    • Turn the control knob to "OFF."
    • Disconnect the LP source.
    • Store upright in an area sheltered from inclement weather (rain, sleet, hail, snow, dust, debris).
    • Cover the appliance to protect exterior surfaces and prevent debris buildup in air passages.
    • Wait until the appliance is cool before covering.
  • Storage (Extended inactivity or transport):
    • Turn the control knob to "OFF."
    • Disconnect the LP source and move to a secure, well-ventilated outdoor location.

Troubleshooting:

The manual includes a troubleshooting section covering common issues such as:

  • Low heat/low flame.
  • Yellow flames with gas smell.
  • Igniter failure (burner lights with a match).
  • Burner not staying lit.
