Do you have a question about the Autoclima Fresco 3000 ALASKA and is the answer not in the manual?

Overview

The provided manual describes the Autoclima Fresco 3000 Alaska, an air conditioning system designed for vehicles. It includes instructions for assembly, maintenance, and use, with versions for both 12V and 24V electrical systems.

Function Description

The Fresco 3000 Alaska is a digital control air conditioning system equipped with a microprocessor to manage and control the air conditioning within a vehicle. It operates the fans and compressor to achieve desired temperature levels and receives information from a temperature sensor. The system is designed to provide cooling and comfort inside the vehicle.

The control panel, which houses the main CPU, features a keyboard for programming the system's operational functions and a numerical display for visualizing parameters, operational status, and temperature.

System Operation: When in standby mode, the decimal point on the display blinks. To activate the control panel and view the set-point, press and immediately release the POWER button. To deactivate the panel, press and hold the POWER button for three seconds.

Temperature Display: To view the temperature, press the POWER button for one second. The decimal point on the display will remain ON while the temperature is being displayed. After six seconds, or upon pressing the POWER button again, the programmed set-point temperature will reappear.

Set-point Adjustment: The set-point represents the desired temperature inside the vehicle. To adjust it, use the UP and DOWN buttons. The display will show the newly set temperature.

Ventilation Control: The control panel manages the ventilation in three speeds: low, medium, and high. To change the speed, use the VENT-UP and VENT-DOWN buttons.

Error Indications: The system provides error codes on the display:

  • OP: Indicates an open circuit in the temperature sensor.
  • SC: Indicates a short circuit in the temperature sensor.

Usage Features

The system is designed for ease of use with its digital control panel.

  • Temperature Control: Users can set the desired temperature using the UP and DOWN buttons.
  • Fan Speed Control: Three fan speeds allow for adjustment of airflow.
  • Standby Mode: The system can be put into standby to conserve power.
  • Error Diagnostics: The display shows specific error codes (OP for open sensor, SC for shorted sensor) to help diagnose issues.

Maintenance Features

Regular maintenance is crucial for optimal performance and longevity of the air conditioning system.

  • Closed Windows/Doors: During operation, vehicle windows and doors should be closed. Do not close the evaporator outlets.
  • Battery Disconnection: Always disconnect the vehicle battery before performing any maintenance or cleaning operations.
  • Electrical Component Protection: Protect electrical components during cleaning.
  • Regular Operation: To prevent components from drying out, operate the air conditioner for at least half an hour once a month, even during winter.
  • Condenser Cleaning: Periodically check and clean the condenser coils with compressed air, taking care not to damage the aluminum fins.
  • Heat Exchanger Inspection: When working near the condenser and evaporator heat exchangers, be careful not to cut yourself on the sharp edges of the fins. Insects, lint, and other debris can accumulate on the fins, reducing heat exchange efficiency.
  • Electro-fan Check: Regularly verify the proper functioning of the electro-fan.

Refrigerant Charging Procedure:

  1. Perform a 30-minute vacuum cycle.
  2. Close the charge fitting on the condenser block.
  3. Introduce approximately 500 grams of R134a into the low-pressure attachment on the compressor block.
  4. Turn on the Fresco 6000 for about 10 minutes before disconnecting the charging hose.
  5. After charging, check for leaks and proper system operation.
  6. Important: If the G6 coolant hose is cut, reduce the refrigerant charge by 40 grams for every meter removed.

The manual emphasizes that the manufacturer declines all responsibility for damages or injuries caused by non-standard system installations or modifications. It is crucial to follow the instructions meticulously.
