J179 Telephone
The J179 telephone is a SIP telephone supported on systems running Release 11.0 or higher
software.
Features include:
• 3.5" Color display (320 x 240).
• 24 programmable button slots for call appearance and feature buttons.
- The button slots can be arranged in either 3-pages of 8 (dual-column mode) or 6-pages of
4 (single column mode). See Single/Dual Column Display on page 144.
- Additional programmable button can be added by the addition of up to 3 button modules.

• 8 twin-LED (red and green) physical buttons used to indicate the status of the programmable
button slots currently in view on the display.
• 4 Additional buttons under the display, used for context sensitive soft key functions as
indicated by the display labels above them.
• Illuminated buttons for missed calls, speaker, headset and mute.
• Non-illuminated buttons for messages, contacts, call log and phone configuration menu
access.
• Call alerting, message waiting indication lamp.
• Dual 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet ports. One for phone network connection. One for PC pass-
through to allow co-location with a user PC.
