Cannot Control with Keyboard and Mouse

Problem

You cannot control the endpoint with your keyboard and mouse due to a failure to connect to

Avaya Room System XT Control, indicated by the icon. This issue applies to the Avaya

XTE240 240 only, configured as personal or shared executive endpoint.

You can also check the Avaya Room System XT Control connection status in the Avaya XTE240

web interface, from the home page:

Not connect to network

Your computer or Avaya XT Series is not connected to the network.

Solution

Your DVI cable is not connected properly to the Avaya XTE240.

Verify that your computer is connected to the Avaya XTE240 properly, as described in

Connecting a Computer to the Avaya XT Series using the DVI port on page 77.

1. Verify that your computer is connected to the network.

2. Verify that your Avaya XT Series is connected to the network by checking that the cables

are connected correctly (see Deployment Guide for Avaya XT Series).

Another computer already connected

Another computer is already connected to the Avaya XTE240.

Solution

Verify that only your computer is connected by checking the Avaya XT Series web interface.

Authentication required

If using the Avaya XTE240 as a room endpoint, the computer must be authenticated with Avaya

Room System XT Control each time it is connected. The

icon indicates that authentication is

required.
