Using easy start to setup up the Avaya XT Series
If you have a deployment of Avaya Aura
®
and Avaya Meetings Server in your network or have
subscribed to the Avaya Equinox
®
Meetings Online cloud service, you can easily configure the
settings for your new endpoint. Using the Easy to Start feature, you can type your authentication
credentials in the Quick Setup Wizard to retrieve the configuration settings from the Avaya
Meetings Management server or the Avaya Equinox
®
Meetings Online server to the new Avaya XT
Series endpoint. The server then sends the settings related to SIP configurations and/or virtual
room number to the device. Also, if you use a valid company email address, the calendar for
Microsoft Exchange/Office 365 is automatically enabled.
The discovery process operates as follows:
• If Avaya Aura
®
is present, it provides:
- The SIP configuration information for registering to Avaya Aura
®
.
- The virtual room number of the local on premises Avaya Meetings Server deployment if
available.
• If Avaya Equinox
®
Meetings Online is present, it provides:
- The virtual room number of the Avaya Equinox
®
Meetings Online cloud service if
available.
In order for the Easy to Start feature to operate successfully, the Avaya Meetings Server
deployment must support auto-configuration service discovery through the DNS.
The acceptable credentials are your email address, including the company domain, or the
company domain only. You can then choose which Avaya Meetings Server or Avaya Equinox
®
Meetings Online deployment you would like to join. At that point, depending on the chosen
environment, you must enter a username and password or SIP extension and password.

About this task
When you start the Avaya XT Series endpoints for the first time, the Quick Setup Wizard guides
you through the steps for applying the Avaya Meetings Server SIP settings to the new endpoint.
You can also use this method if you have an Avaya Equinox
®
Meetings Online account. You can
also relaunch the wizard at any time to refresh your configuration settings.
