Assembly
To assemble the device, follow the steps in the
reverse order:
Slightly grease the disk (7) at its innner
diameter before mounting it.
Set the distance between cap and ribbon
mandrel (X) to the value given in the
following table:
Printer Distance X
64-04/05 3.5 mm
64-06/08 1.8 mm
The distance X is crucial for the max.
setable brake torque of the rewinder. The
table shows only reference values, which
can differ from printer to printer. Possibly,
some shim disks must be added or
removed, to exactly obtain the required
brake torque.
Screw the cap and nut onto the threaded
rod till they reach the depth noted earlier.
After the assembly: set the braking torque.
See section Setting the braking torque on
page 27.
Disassembly
1. Turn the threaded rod by the hexagonal
head out of the cap (1) and pull it out of
the ribbon mandrel.
2. Remove the retaining ring (3) from the
brake lever. Unmount the brake rod (4)
from the brake lever. Remove the brake
lever (5).
4. Remove all parts from the unwinding
mandrel. Before removing the friction
clutch (2), loosen both set screws (6).
6. Push the ribbon mandrel through to the
opposite site.
If necessary, force the ribbon mandrel
out by tapping it lightly with the plastic
hammer.
