adaptors are available from Avocent, or you can build your own cable if needed. The following
table provides the serial port pinout information for the ACS 5000 console server.
See Appendix C for information about how to contact Avocent Technical Support for more
information about cable requirements and installation of Avocent SPC devices and Server
Technology IPDUs.
To daisy-chain Cyclades IPDUs from the console server:
This procedure assumes that one Cyclades PM IPDU is already connected to a serial port on the
console server.
1. Connect one end of a UTP cable with RJ-45 connectors to the OUT port of the Cyclades IPDU
that is directly connected to the serial port on the console server.
2. Connect the other end of the cable to the IN port of the next Cyclades IPDU.
3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 until you have connected the desired number of Cyclades IPDUs.
