Chapter 3: Web Manager for Regular Users 21
IPDU Power Management
If you are authorized to manage outlets on a power management appliance, the IPDU Power Mgmt.
option displays a screen with three tabs: Outlets Manager, Outlet Groups Ctrl and View IPDUs
Info.
Figure 3.3: Regular User - IPDU Power Mgmt. Tabs
You can use the screens under IPDU Power Mgmt. to manage outlets or view IPDU information.
IPDU Power Mgmt. - Outlets Manager
When you select IPDU Power Mgmt. - Outlets Manager, an error message appears either if the
console server cannot detect an IPDU that has been configured for power management or if you are
not authorized to manage power on any IPDU outlets.
If a configured IPDU is connected and you are authorized for power management of one or more
outlets, the IPDU Power Mgmt. - Outlets Manager screen lists the following for each serial port
that has an IPDU connected and is configured for power management: the port number (Serial Port:
N), the IPDU ID (Ipdu ID), the model (such as PM8) and the number of IPDUs connected (Number
of Units). (More than one Cyclades IPDU can be daisy-chained from a serial port, so the Number of
Units is incremented by one for each daisy-chained IPDU.)
The Show button shows details about the outlets on the IPDU. For Avocent SPC power devices, the
Outlet Name, Minimum On Time, Minimum Off Time and Wake State are shown. For Server
Technology IPDUs, the Outlet Name, Post On Delay and Wake State are shown.
The following example shows the outlets and their states for a Cyclades IPDU connected to Port
16.
