Expert - Network - Host Settings
An administrator can select Expert - Network - Host Settings to configure host settings. The
following screen appears if DHCP is enabled.

If DHCP is not enabled, additional options appear.
To configure host settings [Expert]:
1. Select Expert - Network - Host Settings. The Host Settings screen appears.

Field name Field Definition
Host Name The fully qualified domain name.
Console Banner A text string designed to appear on the console upon logging into and
exiting from a port as a way to identify the connected device.
Primary Address IP address of the console server unit.
Secondary Address A secondary IP address assigned to the console server if the unit is on
more than one network.
Network Mask The 32-bit number used to group IP addresses together or to indicate the
range of IP addresses for a subnet.
Secondary Network Mask Optional.
MTU Maximum Transmission Unit used by the TCP protocol.
Primary DNS Server Address of the Domain Name Server.
Secondary DNS Server (Optional) Address of a backup Domain Name Server.
Domain Name Example: domainname.com.
Gateway IP The IP address of the gateway on the subnet.
