4. Enter a valid username or group name in the New User/Group field and click Add. Repeat this
step until all users and groups authorized to manage power for the device that is connected to
this port are added.
5. Click Done.
6. Click apply changes.
Ports - Physical Ports - Other
An administrator can select Expert - Ports - Physical Ports, select one or more serial ports, click
Modify Ports, and click the Other tab to perform other configuration tasks for the selected port(s).

Field Name Definition
TCP Port The TCP Port number for a serial port. The TCP port numbers by default
start from 7001 and increment by +1 up to the number of serial ports on
the console server unit. For example, a console server unit with 8 serial
ports has TCP port numbers 7001 through 7008.
Port IP Alias A name (alias) for the selected port. A port IP alias field appears when a
console protocol (Console*) is selected from the Connection Protocol
pull-down menu on the General screen.
Windows EMS Checkbox to enable Windows EMS (Emergency Management Services).
Appears only when a console (CAS) profile is selected from the
Connection Protocol pull-down menu on the General screen.
TCP Keep-alive Interval Specifies the time interval between the periodic polling by the system to
check client processes and connectivity.
Idle Timeout The maximum time (in seconds) that a session can be idle before the
user is logged off.
STTY Options Set terminal options.
Break Interval Usually 250 to 500 milliseconds - sets a logical zero on the TXD or RXD
lines to reset the communications line.
Break Sequence Usually a character sequence ~break (Ctrl-b).
Login Banner Enter the text you wish to appear as a login banner when logging into a
terminal.
Host to Connect This field should be populated with the IP address of the device you are
connecting to. The field is displayed when a terminal server (TS) profile is
selected from the Connection Protocol pull-down menu on the General
screen.
Terminal Type When Local terminal is selected for the selected port from the Connection
Protocol pull-down menu on the General screen, a Terminal Type field
appears. A pull-down menu with additional options appears when a
Console connection protocol is selected.
