To configure DNS:
1. Select Appliance Settings - Network - DNS. The DNS configuration page is displayed.
2. Enter the Primary DNS IP address.
3. Enter the Secondary DNS address.
4. Enter the Domain name, for example,
corp.avocent.com (default).
5. Enter the hostname of the console server, for example,
ACS60<#ports> - <serial#> (default).
6. When finished, click Save.
Hosts
An administrator can select Appliance Settings - Network - Hosts to configure a table of host
names, IP addresses and host aliases for the local network.
To add a Host:
1. Select Appliance Settings - Network - Hosts. The Hosts page is displayed and contains the IP
address, Hostname and Alias for all local hosts on the network.
2. Click Add to add new host. The Add Host Wizard page is displayed
3. Enter the IP address of the host you want to add.
4. Enter the hostname of the host you want to add.
5. Enter the alias of the host you want to add.
6. Click Save, then click Close.
To edit a Host:
1. Select Appliance Settings - Network - Hosts. The Hosts page is displayed and contains the IP
address, Hostname and Alias for all local hosts on the network.
2. Click on the IP address of the hostname that you want to edit. The settings screen is displayed.
NOTE: The IP address of the selected host is shown but cannot be edited from this screen.
3. Enter a new hostname to change the hostname.
4. Enter a new alias to change the alias.
5. Click Save, then click Close.
SNMP
An administrator can select Appliance Settings - SNMP to configure SNMP, which is needed if
notifications are to be sent to an SNMP management application.
To configure SNMP:
1. Click Application Settings - SNMP - System. The System screen appears.
