Power Management Options
Authorized users can use the Web Manager or the CLI to perform the following tasks:
Reboot the PDU.
Reset the PDU to the factory configuration.
Rename the PDU (change the PDU ID).
Configure the PDU power cycle interval, system logs, buzzer alarm, software overcurrent
protection, the LED display mode and the overcurrent alarm threshold.
Perform power management for devices connected to PDU outlets.
Manage power for a target device that is connected to a serial port and that is also connected to
one or more PDUs. While connected to the target device, the user can enter a configurable
hotkey to bring up a CLI prompt and enter power commands. The default hotkey is
Ctrl+z.
To manage power:
1. Log into the Web Manager as a user who is authorized to manage power.
2. Select Power Management - PDU Devices. The PDU Devices window appears.
3. Select the checkbox next to the PDU for which you want to manage power.
4. Click Reboot or Factory Defaults, if desired. A dialog appears. Click OK.
5. To change the PDU ID, click Rename and enter the name in the New PDU ID field.
6. Click Save.
Power Configuration
During hardware installation, the installer can connect power devices to serial ports or the AUX/
Modem port. During software configuration, the administrator can do the following:
Enable the ports
Configure the ports for power management (assign the Power Profile and a PDU Type)
(Optional) Create groups of power outlets
Manage power for a target device that is connected to
a serial port and that is also connected to one or more
PDUs.
While connected to the target device, enter a
configurable hotkey to bring up a CLI prompt
and enter power commands. The default hotkey
is Ctrl+z.

From the Web Manager, select Topology,
expand the Appliance name, click the PDU
name to access the Outlets screen, then use the
Power On selector in the Action column.
