4. Select the types of notifications you want for the chosen events by clicking in one or more of
the Configure for checkboxes. This will activate the associated Send checkbox.
5. If you want an event notification sent for any configured event destination type, click in its
associated Send checkbox.
6. When finished, click Save. The Events page is displayed with an X in the column below the
destination type if the Send box was checked on the Events Settings screen.
Syslog
This screen allows you to configure the destination of the system logged (syslog) messages.
The syslog destination can be:
one or more remote syslog servers
the appliance console
root session (sends syslog messages to all sessions where the user is root)
NOTE: If you configure both appliance console and root session as destination and then log into the console as
root, the syslog will show two messages in the console, one for destination appliance console and the other for
destination root session.
Click on Appliance Settings - Syslog to display the Syslog screen. The following table describes the
Syslog Destination configuration options.
SNMP
An administrator can use SNMP to manage the console server through an SNMP management
application.

Name Description
Remote Server - IPv4 Click the checkbox to enable syslog messages to be sent to one or more remote
IPv4 syslog servers.
Server - IPv4 Address or
Hostname
Enter one or more remote IPv4 server IP addresses (separate multiple server
addresses by commas) to which syslog messages will be sent.
Remote Server - IPv6 Click the checkbox to enable syslog messages to be sent to one or more remote
IPv6 syslog servers.
Server - IPv6 Address or
Hostname
Enter one or more remote IPv6 server IP addresses (separate multiple server
addresses by commas) to which syslog messages will be sent.
Appliance Console Click the checkbox to send messages to the ACS 6000 console server’s console.
Root Session Click the checkbox to send syslog messages to all sessions where you are
logged in as root user.
