4.1 Function
The Digital IO module has inputs and outputs for digital signals in 24 V industry logic.
Digital output can be obtained from the internally processed signals (e.g. for relay con
-
trols). Digital signals can be passed on by the inputs to the controller (e.g. switching con-
tacts, etc.).
Technical data of the Digital IO module can be found in the chapter ZTechnical Data–
from page 19.
Standard
controller
with plug-in slots to enlarge the controller functionality with function and option modules,
e.g. encoder modules, analog inputs/outputs or field bus connections.
ES controller with not exchangeable function and option modules.
The Digital IO module is available as plug-in module BM4-F-FIO/DIO-XX for standard
controller and as FIO/DIO-XX built-in the ES controller.

NOTICE!
Plug-in module, which has not been manufactured from Baumüller Nürnberg
GmbH. Modules of other manufacturers can damage/destroy the device.
Only use BM4-F-XXX- and BM4-O-XXX-plug-in modules.
