7.5 Installation procedure
1 Switch off the b maXX
4400 device and assure it against unintentional switching on
during mounting.
The connection cable for the Digital IO module must be made by the user, see ZRe-
quirements for the connection cables– on page 38.
2 Take off the cover from the controller unit (standard controller, only),
the Digital IO module is in the slot D (preferred slot) or on one of the alternative slots

3 Pull the 10-pole connector out of the bush button of the Digital IO module
4 Connect the (connecting) cable to this connector
5 Mount the plug again (cable going downwards)
6 Replace the cover again, if necessary.
7 Laying of the cable in the control cabinet, refer to ZRequirements on the electrical
connection– on page 38.
DANGER!
Risk of fatal injury from electrical current!
There is an immediate risk of fatal injury if live electrical parts are contacted.
Therefore:
m Switch off the current when any kind of work is being performed on the electrical
system and ensure safety before switching on again.
m Pay attention to the relevant safety instructions when handling electrical equip-
ment carrying high voltages.
m Do not touch electrically live parts before taking into account the discharge time of
the capacitors
