10 Check whether the text: „module not existent“ is displayed. In this case, the module
was not recognized.

m Only if there is no message under the scale, the Digital IO module is recognized
properly and can be used.
m If the Digital IO module is not recognized, then switch off the device and check the
assembly/installation. After having removed all errors, restart the device for check
-
ing whether the plug-in module gets recognized properly now.
m If the Digital IO module is not recognized yet, then it is defective or the controller/
controller slot. In that case, contact Baumüller Nürnberg GmbH for replacement.
m Once the Digital IO module has been recognized properly following with
ZTesting of the Digital IO module– from page 49.

Notice electrostatic discharge
The Digital IO module or the b maXX 4000 may get damaged if the module is
plugged or pulled out when the b
maXX 4000 is energized.
If the plug-in module has still to be pulled out from the b maXX 4000 due to an exter-
nal action, switch off the b maXX 4000.
Try then to push in the BM4-F-DIO/FIO-XX again as described in the chapter
ZMounting– from page 33 and ZInstallation– from page 37.
