CLEANING & MAINTENANCE
It is important to regularly clean your Umidö, not only to prevent the growth of bacteria, but
also to ensure it will operate effectively for a long time. Before servicing the Umidö, make sure it
is unplugged and cooled off.
HOW TO DISINFECT THE REMOVABLE WATER TANK
1. Unplug your Umidö and detach the water tank
B
from its base
C
.
2. Allow any water still in the water tank to drain off,
B
then hall-ll the tank with clean
water.
3. Add 2 tsp. of white vinegar or chlorine bleach.
4. Every two to three minutes, tilt the water tank
B
from side to side, making sure to coat all
surfaces.
5. After 20 minutes, carefully empty the water tank
B
and rinse it out with hot water until
you can longer smell the vinegar or the bleach.
6. Dry thoroughly with a clean cloth or paper towel.
HOW TO CLEAN THE BASE OF THE TANK
1. Unplug your Umidö and detach the water tank
B
from its base
C
.
2. Allow any water still in the base to drain off
C
.
3. Partially ll the base
C
with one cup (8 oz) of undiluted white vinegar.
4. Leave the vinegar in the base
C
for 20 minutes, while cleaning interior surfaces with the
cleaning brush
H
.
5. Rinse the surface of the base thoroughly
C
with hot water until you can longer smell the
vinegar.
6. Dry thoroughly with a clean cloth or paper towel.
HOW TO REMOVE HARD MINERAL DEPOSITS (SCALING) ON THE TRANSDUCER
1. Unplug your Umidö and detach the water tank
B
from its base
C
.
2. Allow any water still in the base to drain off
C
.
3. To fully access the transducer
J
, remove
the cap by turning it counterclockwise
and pulling it up.
4. Place 2 tsp. of distilled white vinegar and
let sit for 2-5 minutes.
5. Gently scrub the surface of the
transducer
J
with the cleaning brush
H
until all the deposits have been removed.
6. Rinse the surface of the base thoroughly
with hot water until you can longer smell the
vinegar.
7. Dry thoroughly with a clean cloth or paper towel.
8. Put the cap back into place by aligning the notches and lock it in by turning it clockwise.
