Overview

The Reevo is an innovative electric bicycle designed for urban commuting and leisure riding, featuring a distinctive hubless wheel design and integrated smart technology. This user manual provides comprehensive instructions for assembly, usage, maintenance, and safety, ensuring an optimal riding experience.

Function Description

The Reevo functions as a pedal-assist electric bicycle, augmenting rider effort with an electric motor. Its design integrates several smart features, including a front light, rear light, ambient light sensor, and a wheel lock for enhanced security. The bike is powered by a removable battery, which also houses a SIM card slot for connectivity, enabling features like GPS tracking and remote locking. The unique hubless wheels contribute to its sleek aesthetic and potentially offer design advantages, though traditional spokes are absent. The bike is designed for ease of assembly and user-friendly operation, with clear instructions provided for setting up the handlebars, pedals, and saddle.

Usage Features

The Reevo is designed for straightforward use, from initial assembly to daily riding.

  • Assembly: The manual outlines a 12-step assembly process. Key steps include removing the bike from the box, extending the kickstand, aligning and tightening the handlebar, attaching the crank arms and pedals, adjusting the saddle height, inserting a nano SIM card, and finally, inserting the charged battery and closing its lid. Specific tools like 6mm and 4mm Allen keys are provided for assembly.
  • Handlebar Adjustment: The handlebar is initially packaged parallel to the frame and wheels. Users need to rotate it anticlockwise until it is perpendicular to the frame, then tighten the top and side bolts of the bike stem using the provided Allen keys. It's crucial to tighten the top bolt first before the side bolts.
  • Pedal Installation: The crank arms are marked "L" for left and "R" for right. Users insert the appropriate crank arm and a crank bolt into the housing, tightening it with a 6mm Allen key.
  • Saddle Height Adjustment: The saddle height can be adjusted for comfort. The optimal height is achieved when there is a slight bend in the rider's leg with the pedal in its lowest position.
  • Battery and SIM Card: The battery lid opens by pressing on both sides simultaneously. A nano SIM card (4G with a minimum of 100 MB data recommended) is inserted into a dedicated slot on the battery dock. The fully charged battery is then inserted, and the lid is closed.
  • Integrated Lights: The bike features a front light and a rear light, essential for visibility, especially in dark conditions. An ambient light sensor likely automates light activation.
  • Wheel Lock: An integrated wheel lock provides security.
  • Storage Hook: A storage hook is present, potentially for attaching bags or other accessories.
  • USB Charging Port: A USB charging port is available, suggesting the ability to charge external devices.

Maintenance Features

Proper maintenance is crucial for the longevity and safe operation of the Reevo.

  • Regular Inspection: Routine checks of brakes, tires, battery, wheel rims, handlebar, and seat post are recommended. Poor maintenance can lead to part failure and serious injury.
  • Battery Care:
    • Handle the battery with care due to its weight; avoid dropping it.
    • Remove the battery if the bike will not be used for prolonged periods.
    • Avoid leaving the battery discharged for extended times.
    • Charge the battery indoors on a non-flammable surface.
    • Keep the battery and charger away from moisture, water, fire, and heat.
    • Only use the official Reevo battery charger.
    • Charge the battery at ambient temperatures.
    • Keep the battery connector clean and dry.
    • Keep the battery and charger out of reach of children.
    • Note that battery life may be shorter in winter.
  • Warranty: Beno provides a warranty against defects in workmanship and material: 2 years for Europe and 1 year for the rest of the world. This covers all original components. The warranty applies only to original owners and is non-transferable. Claims require proof of purchase.
  • Warranty Exclusions: The warranty does not cover improper or negligent use, modification, normal wear and tear (drive train, brake pads, wheels, rollers, battery deterioration), damages due to accidents, improper assembly/installation by the user, or follow-up maintenance.
  • Safety Guidelines:
    • Do not tamper with or modify the bike's motor or computer systems, as this voids the warranty and can lead to accidents.
    • Always wear a helmet, especially in heavy traffic.
    • Do not use cell phones while riding.
    • Ensure lights are working and unobstructed, particularly in dark conditions.
    • Riders are responsible for knowing and complying with local laws regarding bicycle operation and equipment.
