6. Adjusting crawler tension
• Adjust crawler tightness by turn-
ing adjuster nuts (A) and after hav-
ing loosened lock screws (B) so
that crawlers have a exure (C) of
between 10-15 mm when pressed
with a thumb. Use both the left and
right adjusters
CAUTION
Make sure to well tighten screws
and nuts after tension adjust-
ment.
DANGER
In order to avoid personal injury,
make sure that crawlers are not
excessively tense. Irregular loads
applied to the idler, sprocket and
crawler leads to excessive wear and
to bad accidents.
IMPORTANT
It is necessary to rst move the
machine forwards before carrying
out any sort of adjustment opera-
tion, since if the machine is pulled
backwards the upper part of the
crawler remains tense, thus mak-
ing whatever type of adjustment
impossible.
o Remove mud from the crawler
so as to avoid the adjustment nut
from hardening or getting stuck.
Lubricate the crawler stretcher at
the end of the job.
Excessive tension on the crawl-
ers may cause the following prob-
lems:
Increase of running resistance and
reduction of driving power.
• Excessive wear of crawler.
Insufcient tension on the crawl-
ers may cause the following prob-
lems:
• Disengagement of crawler.
Defective engagement of sprocket.
Excessive wear of crawler.
After completing the work, clean
properly and remove soil and mud
from the crawlers.
