Overview

This document is an owner's manual for a Bestway P3150 air mattress with a built-in Sidewinder™ AC Electric Pump.

Function Description:

The Bestway P3150 is an air mattress designed for indoor, household use. Its primary function is to provide a comfortable sleeping surface that can be inflated and deflated using its integrated AC electric pump. The pump is exclusively designed for inflation and deflation of air beds.

Important Safety Instructions and Warnings:

  • Suffocation Hazard for Babies: Never place a baby 15 months old or younger on this product to prevent suffocation and death.
  • Child Entrapment Hazard: Always position the product 1 ft (30 cm) or more away from objects such as walls and dressers to prevent a child from being entrapped.
  • Inflation: Keep the product fully inflated when in use. After initial use, airbeds may require additional air to increase firmness. Add air to achieve the desired firmness.
  • Electrical Safety:
    • The appliance has a polarized plug (one blade wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If it doesn't fit, reverse the plug. If it still doesn't fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature.
    • To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not expose the appliance to water or rain.
    • Unplug or disconnect the appliance from the power supply before using and servicing.
  • Motor Operation: Motor run time should not exceed 5 minutes. Allow the motor to cool for 5 minutes between uses.
  • Air Vent: The air vent on the cover should be kept free of debris during use.
  • Storage: The product must be stored in a dry location.
  • Commercial Use: This product is not intended for commercial use.

Usage Features:

Inflation (Using Built-in Pump):

  1. Ensure the power plug is disconnected from the outlet and the pump switch is in the "off" position.
  2. Connect the power plug to a suitable AC outlet.
  3. Turn the pump switch to the "inflate" position. The pump will begin to inflate the air mattress.
  4. Once the desired firmness is reached (typically within a few minutes, but not exceeding 5 minutes of continuous pump operation), turn the pump switch to the "off" position.
  5. Disconnect the power plug from the outlet.

Deflation (Using Built-in Pump):

  1. Ensure the power plug is disconnected from the outlet and the pump switch is in the "off" position.
  2. Connect the power plug to a suitable AC outlet.
  3. Turn the pump switch to the "deflate" position. The pump will begin to deflate the air mattress.
  4. Once the air mattress is fully deflated, turn the pump switch to the "off" position.
  5. Disconnect the power plug from the outlet.
  6. Fold the deflated mattress for storage.

Inflation (Using External Pump - if built-in pump is unavailable or preferred):

  1. Locate the external inflation valve on the air mattress.
  2. Open the valve cap.
  3. Connect the nozzle of an external pump (e.g., a manual or battery-operated pump) to the valve.
  4. Inflate the mattress to the desired firmness.
  5. Remove the external pump and securely close the valve cap.

Deflation (Using External Pump - if built-in pump is unavailable or preferred):

  1. Locate the external inflation valve on the air mattress.
  2. Open the valve cap.
  3. Connect the nozzle of an external pump to the valve, ensuring it's set to deflate.
  4. Deflate the mattress.
  5. Remove the external pump and securely close the valve cap.
  6. Fold the deflated mattress for storage.

Cleaning and Maintenance Features:

Cleaning:

  1. Ensure the air mattress is deflated and unplugged from any power source.
  2. Prepare a cleaning solution with water and a mild detergent (e.g., dish soap). The manual shows a bucket of water and a sponge.
  3. Gently wipe the surface of the air mattress with a sponge or cloth dampened with the cleaning solution.
  4. Rinse the mattress with clean water, ensuring all soap residue is removed.
  5. Allow the mattress to air dry completely. The manual suggests drying at 59°F (15°C) and shows a distance of 19 inches (50 cm) from a heat source, implying indirect drying.

Repair (for PVC material):

  1. Locate the puncture or tear on the PVC surface.
  2. Clean the area around the damage thoroughly.
  3. Cut a repair patch (likely included with the product) to a size slightly larger than the damage, ensuring rounded corners.
  4. Apply adhesive (not explicitly shown but implied by the scissors and glue tube) to the back of the patch.
  5. Press the patch firmly over the damaged area for 30 seconds.
  6. Allow the adhesive to cure for at least 30 minutes before reinflating.

Repair (for flocked surface):

  1. Locate the puncture or tear on the flocked surface.
  2. Clean the area around the damage thoroughly.
  3. Cut a repair patch to a size slightly larger than the damage, ensuring rounded corners.
  4. Apply adhesive to the back of the patch.
  5. Press the patch firmly over the damaged area for 30 seconds.
  6. Allow the adhesive to cure for at least 30 minutes before reinflating.

Storage:

  1. Ensure the air mattress is completely deflated and dry.
  2. Fold the mattress neatly. The manual illustrates a folding sequence:
    • Fold the mattress lengthwise.
    • Fold it again lengthwise.
    • Roll it up from one end.
    • Secure the rolled mattress, possibly with a strap or by placing it in a storage bag (not explicitly shown but implied by the final compact shape).
  3. Store the product in a dry location, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
