Note
that
the
starter
switch
is
in
the
“00”
position
for
the
test.
It
is
pref-
erable
always
to
disconnect
the
component
parts
and
test
them
separately
in
order
to
determine
where
weaknesses
exist.

indicated—the
brush
rigging
and
field
coils
can
be
tested
separately
from

armature.
Like-
wise
the
armature
can
be
tested
by
itself.
With
the
brushes
lowered,
the
test
will
be
that
of
brush
rigging,
field
coils
and
armature
combined.
