Overview

The Bliss® Remote Control (model RW5) is a device designed for operating Bliss® smart blinds. It features a user-friendly interface with clearly labeled buttons for various functions, making it easy to control individual blinds or groups of blinds.

Function Description

The remote control allows users to:

  • Select Group Channels: The remote supports up to five group channels, indicated by blue backlighting, allowing control over multiple blinds simultaneously or individually. The active channel(s) are backlit in blue.
  • Control Blind Movement:
    • Up (2): Moves the blind towards its top limit.
    • Down (6): Moves the blind towards its bottom limit.
    • Stop (3): Halts blind motion at any point.
    • Step Up (5): Moves or tilts the blind up in small increments. This tilting feature is a light control option available for Venetian blinds, Double Roller blinds, and Vertical Venetian blinds.
    • Step Down (4): Moves or tilts the blind down in small increments, also supporting the tilting feature for specific blind types.
  • Navigate Channels:
    • Channel Previous (7): Selects the previous channel (1 to 5) or all channels.
    • Channel Next (8): Selects the next channel (1 to 5) or all channels.
  • Pairing and Removal:
    • C button (12): Used to pair the remote with a product.
    • L button (9): Used to remove other remotes from a blind.
  • Non-functional Buttons: The T button (10) and S button (13) are present on the remote but have no assigned function and can be ignored.

Usage Features

The Bliss® remote control offers several features for convenient use:

  • Direct Pairing: Blinds can be paired directly to a group channel on the remote. The process involves selecting a group channel, locating the 'C' button behind the battery lid, putting the motor into pairing mode by pressing its setting button until it jogs, and then confirming by pressing and holding the 'C' button on the remote until the motor jogs again.
  • App Integration: The Bliss® app can also be used to add or remove remotes, providing an alternative method for managing blind controls.
  • Remote Removal:
    • Removing a single remote: Users can select the group channel operating the blind they wish to remove from the remote, then slide open the battery lid and press the 'C' button a few times until the motor jogs to confirm removal.
    • Removing all remotes except one: To keep one remote (A) and remove all others (B and C), select the desired channel on remote (A), slide open its battery lid, and press and hold the 'L' button + down arrow until the motor jogs to confirm that all other remotes are removed.
  • Backlit Channels: The active group channel(s) are indicated by a blue backlight, which goes to sleep after 2 seconds of inactivity to conserve battery.

Maintenance Features

  • Battery Installation and Replacement:
    • To install, remove the battery lid, orient the CR2450 battery with the '+' symbol facing up, insert it into the socket, and reinstall the cover.
    • If group channels no longer light up or the product stops responding, the battery needs replacement. A small flat-head screwdriver can be used to carefully remove the used CR2450 battery.
  • Disposal Instructions: Batteries should not be thrown away or incinerated. They must be disposed of in accordance with local regulations. Users should contact their local equipment supplier representative for information on waste collection.
  • Troubleshooting:
    • If backlit buttons do not illuminate, check if the battery is inserted properly and is not damaged.
    • If the blind does not respond, ensure the integrated li-ion battery of the blind is charged and that the correct group channel has been selected on the remote.

The Bliss® remote control is a comprehensive solution for managing smart blinds, combining ease of use with essential control and maintenance features.
