Engine oil
Engine oil consumption varies depending on
driving style and operating conditions.
Diesel engine: checking engine oil level
1. Park the vehicle on a level surface with the
engine at operating temperature, i.e. after
driving continuously for at least 10 km
(approx. 6.5 miles).
2. Switch off the engine.
3. After about 5 minutes pull out the dipstick 6
and wipe it dry with a non-linting cloth,
paper towel or similar.
4. Carefully push the dipstick fully into its tube,
then pull it out again.
The oil level must be between the two
marks on the dipstick.
