Micro-filter and activated
charcoal filter
The micro-filter traps dust and pollen in
the incoming airflow. The activated
charcoal filter in addition removes
gaseous pollutants from the air entering
the car. This combined filter is changed
by BMW Service during routine mainte-
nance work. If the airflow is noticeably
less than usual, this may indicate that
the filter should be renewed earlier.
From ignition key position 1, press the
button to operate.

Pull the blind out at its loop and secure
it to the retainer.
