Also check the tire inflation pressure of the
emergency wheel in the cargo area regularly, and
correct it as needed.
Safety information
Warning
The emergency wheel has particular dimen‐
sions. When driving with an emergency wheel,
changed driving properties may occur, for in‐
stance reduced lane stability when braking, lon‐
ger braking distance, and changed self-steering
properties in the limit area. There is a risk of ac‐
cident. Drive moderately and do not exceed a
speed of 50 mph/80 km/h.
Overview
The emergency wheel and the wheel change
tools are located in the cargo area under the
cargo floor panel.
Removing the emergency wheel
1.
Fold the rear seat backrests of the third seat
rows down.
2. Fold the cargo area floor up to the end posi‐
tion. Make sure that the cargo floor panel is
engaged.
3. Remove the cover, arrow 1. To do this, re‐
lease the quick release fastener, arrows 2, on
both sides of the cover.
4. Slacken the luggage strap at the clasp, ar‐
row 1, but do not release completely.
5. Pull the luggage strap back toward the load‐
ing edge trim over the spare tire.
6. If necessary, open the lower tailgate.
7. Remove the emergency wheel with tool
holder from the storage well, arrow 2.
Inserting the emergency wheel
1.
Fold up the cargo floor panel.
2. If necessary, open the lower tailgate.
3. Place the emergency wheel with tool fixture
into the storage well.
4. Tie the ratchet strap. Make sure that it is cor‐
rectly and firmly seated.
5. Insert the cover and tighten the quick release
fasteners.
6. Push the cargo floor panel downward.
7. If necessary, fold the rear seat backrest of the
third seat row up.
