The provided document is a product manual for the EXL95H/96H Chiller/Cooler Carbonator, manufactured by Booth Dispensers Ltd. The device is designed for chilling and carbonating beverages, primarily for commercial use in bars and similar establishments, as indicated by the "BRANDELS From the Cellar to the Bar" logo. The manual covers introduction, specifications, installation, commissioning, wiring schematics, water circuits, fault finding, replacement parts, and disposal.

Function Description

The EXL95H and EXL96H units are medium to high-capacity chillers that incorporate soda recirculation. They offer an option for a cold carbonator, also with soda recirculation. The modular design allows for various control options, including a single mechanical thermostat or a choice of two digital thermostats, specified at the time of order. These units can also accommodate up to six syrup cooling coils.

The carbonator version of the unit is designed to produce carbonated water, while the non-carbonator version focuses solely on chilling still water and soda. Both versions utilize a refrigeration system to create an ice bank, which then chills the circulating water or soda. The carbonator models include components for CO2 input, water inlet for soda, and a carbonator vessel to infuse CO2 into the water. The non-carbonator models focus on chilling still water and pre-chilled soda.

Usage Features

Modular Design: The units are designed in a modular fashion, allowing for customization with different control options (mechanical or digital thermostats) and the integration of up to six syrup cooling coils.

Control Options:

DFx Digital Control (1A6543): Advanced digital control.
Eliwell Digital Control (1A6544): Another digital control option.
EXL95H Mechanical Control (1A6545): Mechanical thermostat for EXL95H.
EXL96H Mechanical Control (1A6712): Mechanical thermostat for EXL96H.

Deck Options (Carbonator vs. Non-Carbonator):

Carbonator Decks:
- CRV (1A6587): Carbonator Deck + Rotary Vane Pump
- C (1A6615): Carbonator Deck + GPR10-15 Pump
- CMD (1A6672): Carbonator Deck + Mag Drive Pump
Non-Carbonator Decks:
- XRV (1A6591): Non-Carbonator Deck + Rotary Vane Pump
- X (1A6614): Non-Carbonator Deck + GPR10-15 Pump
- XMD (1A6673): Non-Carbonator Deck + Mag Drive Pump

Coil Options:

0 Coil Pack (1A6671): No syrup cooling coils.
6 Coil Pack (1A6670): Includes six syrup cooling coils.

Installation:

Must be installed by a competent person on a firm, level surface.
Requires at least 100mm clearance from other surfaces for proper ventilation.
The bath must be filled with cold water until it overflows to prevent spillage during ice bank formation.
For carbonator models, specific steps are required for connecting CO2, water, and soda recirculation lines, as well as purging air from the system.
For non-carbonator models, connections for still water, soda water, and recirculation lines are required.

Maintenance Features

Safety Precautions:

Service must only be carried out by a suitably qualified refrigeration engineer.
The unit must be isolated from the electricity supply before removing covers.
The refrigeration circuit must not be damaged.
Ventilation openings must be kept clear of obstructions.
A minimum gap of 100mm between the appliance and any restriction is required for proper airflow.
Replacement electrical components must be of the same type.
Operation within ambient temperatures of 10°C to 32°C is crucial.

Fault Finding (Carb Deck):

Warm Drinks/No Carb Water: Check LED illumination, pump timeout, water inlet solenoid, pump, can level detection PCB, water supply, soda recirc pump, CO2 pressure, fuses, and PCB.
First Drinks Only/Permanently/Intermittently: Check recirc pump, fridge running status, fuse, thermostat, compressor, fridge overheating, condenser, fan, transformer, glycol level, glycol pump, heat dump fan, and temperature cut-out.
Fridge System Failure: If all checks are clear, the fridge system may require repair.

Fault Finding (Non Carb Deck):

Warm Drinks/First Drinks Only/Permanently/Intermittently: Check recirc pump, fridge running status, fuse, thermostat, compressor, fridge overheating, condenser, and fan.
Fridge System Failure: If all checks are clear, the fridge system may require repair.
