2.5 Bluetooth
2.5.1 Bluetooth USB adapter
The Bluetooth USB adapter included in the scope of
delivery is inserted into the PC/laptop and provides a
radio link to components of DCU 220 capable of wirel-
ess communication.
2.5.2 Troubleshooting
i In the event of problems with the Bluetooth radio
link, refer to the information in the separate instruc-
tion "Bluetooth USB Adapter".

2.4 Wireless connections
i Users of wireless systems are responsible for com-
pliance with the applicable directives and restric-
tions in the country concerned.
A "wireless system" in the sense of the European Di-
rective RED 2014/53/EU (Radio Equipment Directive)
is an electrical or electronic product (component) that
transmits and/or receives radio waves as permitted for
the purpose of wireless communication and/or radio-
location.
WLAN and Bluetooth instructions can be found in the
separate instructions "Data protection, data security,
wireless connections".

These instructions must be carefully studied prior to
start-up, connection and operation of the DCU 220
and must always be observed.
2.6 Information on
Bosch Connected Repair
The "Bosch Connected Repair" software (CoRe) makes
it possible to exchange customer and vehicle informa-
tion as well as protocols in the workshop. For this, the
testers (CoRe clients) are connected to a central com-
puter (CoRe server) via the computer network.

cial accessories, such as charging station, docking
station, motor vehicle adapter and country-specific
keyboards Bosch.
3.4 Transportation
The DCU 220 connecting cables must be removed for
transportation purposes. In addition, the DCU 220 is
only to be transported and stored in the case supplied.
3.5 Description of unit
The DCU 220 is a portable, location-independent lap-
top and tablet computer (convertible) for the work-
shop. It is operated using a touchpad and keyboard
in laptop mode, and a stylus (mouse) and virtual key-
board in tablet mode. The data and measured values
can be printed out by way of the USB port on an exter-
nal printer (special accessory). The DCU 220 and the
accessories are supplied in a protective case.
3. Product description
3.1 Intended use
The DCU 220 is a portable, location-independent laptop
and tablet computer (convertible) for the workshop.
Win 10 is pre-installed as operating system. Upon initial
start-up of additional components the information in the
relevant instructions must be observed and the corres-
ponding application software installed.
! The installation of additional software on the
DCU 220 may impair the performance of the
DCU 220 system and the DCU 220 may become
slower in general. This applies in particular to virus
scanner programs.
! The DCU 220 is a precision device which is not to be
subjected to sources of heat (e.g. direct sunlight),
impact, vibration, magnetic fields and excessive
soiling.
