Regular functional check
The smoke detector function must be checked once a month.
Press the test button for two seconds.
– If the siren sounds (short beep) and the alarm light (red
LED) flashes 10 times, the smoke detector is working
correctly.
– If the alarm light (red LED) flashes every second, the smoke
detector is defective and must be replaced.
– If there is neither an audible nor visible signaling, the
battery is flat or the smoke detector is defective.
In this case replace the batteries and repeat the functional
check.
Functional check with fumes (optional)
In addition to the regular check you can test the detector with
fumes. In this case, you may use a test gas, available in selected
stores and online.

Blow fumes vertically onto the detector.
An alarm is triggered (siren, alarm light and emergency
lighting).
48 seconds after the smoke has escaped from the detector, the
alarm ends.
Turning-off the siren
You can turn off the siren.

Press the test button for two seconds.
Even if there is still smoke in the detector the siren ends.
The alarm light (red LED) will continue to flash. If there is
no more smoke inside the detector, the test button can be
used to stop the alarm completely.
