Working safely with this machine is
possible only when the operating
and safety information are read
completely and the instructions
contained therein are strictly
followed.
Before using for the first time, ask
for a practical demonstration.
If the cable is damaged or cut through
while working, do not touch the cable
but immediately pull the mains plug.
Never use the machine with a
damaged cable.
Wear safety glasses, protective gloves
and sturdy shoes.
Wear ear protection to prevent damage
to your hearing.
Connect the mains plug only when the tool is
switched off. After using, pull the mains plug.
Always direct the cable to the rear away from the
machine.
Do not carry the machine by the cable.
When working with the machine, always hold it
firmly with both hands and provide for a secure
stance.
During pauses in the work, when not in use or
during work on the machine itself (e.g., changing of
the working tools, repairs, cleaning, adjustment),
pull the mains plug.
Persons under 16 years of age are not permitted to
operate this machine.
Keep the tool and accessories out of the reach of
children.
Bosch can assure flawless functioning of the
machine only when original accessories are used.
Be careful of hidden electrical lines or
gas and water pipes. Check the
working area, e.g., with a metal
detector.
Always use the correct supply voltage!
The voltage of the power source must agree with the
value given on the nameplate of the machine.
Machines designated for 230 V can also be operated
with 220 V.
Do not carry the machine by the replace-
ment drill chuck!
The SDS-plus replacement drill chuck can be easily
exchanged for the quick clamping replacement drill
chuck supplied with the drill hammer.
Hammer drilling and chiselling is possible only with
SDS-plus tools that can be inserted in the SDS-plus
replacement drill chuck.
Drilling and screwdriving is also possible with tools that
are not SDS-plus (e.g., round shaft drills, screwdriver
bits) which are clamped in the quick clamping
replacement drill chuck.
Removing the Replacement Drill Chuck (Fig. )
Danger of injury! Before removing the
replacement drill chuck, always remove
the tool or bit.
Grasp the locking ring 6 of the SDS-plus
replacement drill chuck and pull forcefully in the
direction of the arrow. The replacement drill chuck
comes off.
Attaching the Replacement Drill Chuck (Fig. )
Grasp the quick clamping replacement drill chuck with
the whole hand. Place it with a twisting motion on the
chuck holder until it can clearly be heard to latch. The
replacement drill chuck locks itself.
Check locking by pulling on the replacement drill
chuck.
Make replacements in a corresponding manner.
Maintenance of the Replacement Drill Chuck
Keep the connecting parts free of dust. Lubrication is
not necessary.
