8.6 Slot Brackets
8.6.1 General Information

8.6.2 CNC Fault (X21)
The CNC fault contact is a relay contact that is connected via a hardware
watchdog. It is permanently triggered by the NC operating system. In case of
an error (hardware error, firmware error, system error etc.) the contact is force-
opened. The CNC fault contact can be wired, e.g. in the emergency stop chain
of the machine.

8.6.3 Fast I/Os (X23)
At the X23 connector fast I/O signals can be directly connected to the CNC,
bypassing the PLC. A total of 16 inputs and 16 outputs is provided. The interface
is designed as a standard Interbus-S interface. The signals are to be connected
via an Interbus-S I/O module. This can be done in 2 ways:
Internal implementation via NCIO card: This option provides a solution
with a 37-pin Sub-D connector, that is compatible with the earlier BTVs
(see chapter 8.9 "NCIO Card" on page 101).
External implementation via Phoenix Block I/O module: The I/O module
can also be mounted in the control cabinet, away from the BTV (see
chapter 8.10 "Phoenix Block I/O Module ILB IB 24 DI16 DO16" on page
104).
