7.2 Server/Client functionality
The ’hosts’ file
The ’hosts’ ASCII file contains the IP addresses and an associated host
name. The corresponding server can be contacted under this host
name. The alias names can be freely chosen and are optional.
Example of the ’hosts’ file

The file ’hosts’ is located in system directory C:\Winnt\system32\dri-
vers\etc.

but which have the same IP address.
