Note
All types of batteries will lose power after long-
term storage. To protect the battery, store it in a
cool and well-ventilated place.
If the motorcycle has not been used for an
extended period, remove the negative (-) wire from
the battery.
Spark Plug
After the first 300 km and every 3,000 km
thereafter, clean off any carbon deposits from the
spark plug by using a small steel wire brush or spark
plug cleaner.
Readjust the spark plug gap with a feeler gauge to keep
it between 0.6 - 0.8 mm.
Replace the spark plug every 6,000 km.
When cleaning off carbon deposits, observe the colour
of the ceramic tip of the spark plug. The colour should
indicate if a standard spark plug is suitable for your
usage.
A normal working spark plug should appear light grey
or yellow. If a standard spark appears wet or very dark,
it may be better to use a spark plug with a low caloric
value. If a spark plug is very white or even glowing,
it means that the spark plug has been working in
overheated conditions. Replace it with a spark plug
with a higher caloric value.
