Overview

This document is a user manual for a Brandt washing machine, providing guidance on installation, use, and maintenance.

Function Description:

The Brandt washing machine is designed for household (domestic) use and is suitable for washing machine washable textiles. It offers various washing programs tailored to different fabric types and soil levels, including Cotton, Synthetics, Rapid 60', Rapid 45', Mixed, Delicate, Flash 15', Intensive, Wool, Spin only, Rinse and Spin, ECO 40-60, Sport, and Hygiene. The machine allows for selection of temperature, spin speed, and additional options like Prewash, Extra Rinse, and Delayed Start to customize the wash cycle. It features a detergent compartment with separate sections for prewash, main wash, and softener. The appliance is equipped with a control panel for program selection, display of settings, and start/pause functionality. An audible beep indicates the end of a wash cycle. The machine also includes a child safety lock function to prevent accidental changes to settings.

Important Technical Specifications:

The model WFB183QWA has a washing capacity of 8.0kg. Its dimensions are 850mm (H) x 595mm (L) x 565mm (D). The net weight is 68kg, and the rated power is 2000W. The power supply required is 220-240V/50HZ, with a maximum current of 10 A. The standard water pressure should be between 0.05 MPa and 1 MPa. The maximum weight of dry laundry is 8 kilograms. The EU energy efficiency classification is B. The ECO 40-60 program is suitable for washing cotton items that are normally dirty and suitable for washing in the same cycle at 40°C or 60°C. This program is used to assess compliance with the European Union's eco-design regulations.

Usage Features:

Before first use, a complete wash cycle should be performed empty. Users must ensure the appliance is stable and not resting on the power cord during installation. The machine requires connection to a water supply hose and proper positioning of the drain hose, which should be between 60 cm and 100 cm high. For optimal washing results, users should always read garment labels and choose the correct detergent type and quantity. Overfilling the machine or using too much detergent can lead to poor washing results or excessive foam. The detergent compartment has specific sections for liquid and powdered detergents, with a separator for liquid detergent. The control panel allows users to switch on the appliance, select a program, adjust settings (temperature, spin speed), and start the wash. A "Memo" feature allows users to save frequently used washing cycles. The child safety lock can be activated by pressing the Temperature and Spin buttons simultaneously for three seconds. The audible beep can also be switched off.

Maintenance Features:

Regular maintenance is crucial for the appliance's longevity.

  • Cleaning and Care: Always switch off the appliance and turn off the water tap before any maintenance. Surfaces can be cleaned with neutral, non-abrasive detergents diluted with water. Sharp objects should not be used.
  • Cleaning the Drum: Any rust inside the drum from metal articles must be removed immediately with chlorine-free detergent. Steel wool should not be used.
  • Cleaning the Door and Window Seal: The window and seal should be wiped after each wash to remove lint and stains. Coins, buttons, and other objects trapped in the seal should be removed.
  • Cleaning the Water Supply Hose Filter: If there is hard water or if the tap is open, the water supply hose filter needs cleaning. This involves closing the tap, removing the hose, cleaning the filter, and reconnecting the hose.
  • Cleaning the Washing Machine Filter: The water inlet hose filter at the back of the machine should be unscrewed, removed using pliers, cleaned with a brush, and refitted.
  • Cleaning the Detergent Compartment: The detergent drawer should be cleaned if it appears dirty. This involves pressing a clip to release the drawer, removing and washing it with water, and then clipping it back into place. For thorough cleaning, an old toothbrush can be used to clean the inside of the compartment. Alcohol, solvents, or chemicals should not be used to clean the washing machine.
  • Cleaning the Drain Pump Filter: The drain pump filter should be cleaned regularly to ensure proper machine operation and prevent lint and debris from accumulating. This involves opening the service flap, turning the filter counter-clockwise to remove it, removing any debris, and then refitting the filter.
  • Preventing Scale Build-up: In areas with hard water, a descaling product should be used regularly. An empty drum washing cycle with a descaling product can be run.
