Overview

The Braun Series 3 shaver, model 310 (Type 5777), is a meticulously designed grooming tool that combines high standards of quality, functionality, and aesthetic appeal. This electric shaver is engineered to provide an efficient and comfortable shaving experience, featuring a flexible shaving system that adapts to facial contours.

Function Description

The primary function of the Braun Series 3 shaver is to provide a close and comfortable shave. It operates using a foil and cutter cassette system, which is designed to capture and cut hairs effectively. The shaver is equipped with an on/off switch for easy operation. For added versatility, it includes a long hair trimmer, allowing users to manage sideburns, moustaches, and beards with precision. The device is powered by rechargeable batteries, indicated by a charging light, and comes with a special cord set for charging. A foil protection cap is also included to safeguard the shaving head when not in use.

Usage Features

To achieve optimal shaving results, Braun recommends a three-step process. First, it is advised to shave before washing the face. Second, the shaver should always be held at a 90-degree angle to the skin. Third, for an effective shave, the skin should be stretched, and the shaver should be moved against the direction of beard growth.

The shaver's flexible shaving foils are designed to automatically adjust to every contour of the face, ensuring a consistent and close shave. The long hair trimmer (2) can be activated by sliding it upwards, making it convenient for styling and tidying up longer facial hair.

For charging, the ideal environmental temperature ranges from 15 °C to 35 °C. It is crucial not to expose the shaver to temperatures exceeding 50 °C for extended periods. To charge the shaver, connect the special cord set (6) to an electrical outlet with the motor switched off. An initial charge of at least 16 hours is recommended. The green charging light (4) illuminates to indicate that the shaver is charging. After a full charge, the shaver should be discharged through normal use before being recharged to full capacity (another 16 hours). A complete charge typically provides up to 45 minutes of cordless shaving time, though this can vary depending on beard growth. The maximum battery capacity is achieved after several charging/discharging cycles.

Maintenance Features

Regular cleaning is essential to maintain the shaver's performance and longevity. The shaver head is washable and can be cleaned under running tap water. Before cleaning with water, it is imperative to detach the shaver from the power supply to prevent electric shock.

For a quick and easy clean after each shave, switch the shaver on (cordless) and rinse the shaver head under hot running water. Liquid soap without abrasive substances can be used. After rinsing off all foam, let the shaver run for a few more seconds. Then, switch off the shaver, remove the foil and cutter cassette (1), and allow it to dry. If the shaver is regularly cleaned under water, it is recommended to apply a drop of light machine oil onto the long hair trimmer (2) and the shaver foil and cutter cassette (1) once a week.

Alternatively, the shaver can be cleaned using a brush. First, switch off the shaver. Remove the shaver foil and cutter cassette and gently tap it out on a flat surface to dislodge trapped hairs. Use the brush to clean the inner area of the shaver head. However, it is important not to clean the shaver foil and cutter cassette with the brush, as this may cause damage.

To ensure 100% shaving performance, the shaver foil and cutter cassette (1) (model 32B) should be replaced at least every 18 months or when signs of wear are visible.

To preserve the optimum capacity of the rechargeable batteries, the shaver should be fully discharged (by shaving) approximately every 6 months. Following this, it should be recharged to full capacity.

The Braun Series 3 shaver is designed with environmental protection in mind. It contains rechargeable batteries, and at the end of its useful life, it should not be disposed of with household waste. Instead, it should be taken to a Braun Service Centre or appropriate collection sites provided in your country for proper disposal. This product conforms to European Directives EMC 2004/108/EC and Low Voltage 2006/95/EC. Electrical specifications can be found printed on the special cord set.
