This document describes the Braun SmartCare Center, a cleaning and charging station designed for Braun electric shavers. The SmartCare Center is compatible with various Braun shaver models, including S5 (Type 5761/5762), S6 (Type 5761/5762), and S7 (Type 5763/5764). The design of the SmartCare Center may vary slightly depending on the specific sales model.
The Braun SmartCare Center serves as an integrated solution for cleaning, charging, and maintaining your electric shaver. It features a start button (1) to initiate the cleaning and charging process. The device includes a display (2) that indicates the cleaning fluid level, using a color-coded system: blue for high, yellow for low, and red for empty, signaling the need for a cartridge exchange. A release button (3) allows the user to open the housing for cartridge exchange. The unit is powered via a power socket (4) and uses a dedicated cleaning cartridge (5) and power supply (6).
To begin using the SmartCare Center, it must be installed on a flat surface as shown in the provided illustrations. For charging and/or cleaning, the shaver should be inserted upside down, with its back facing the front. Once the start button is pressed, the SmartCare Center automatically cleans and charges the shaver. After the cleaning and charging cycle, the shaver should be left in the station to dry. The drying process can take several hours, depending on the ambient climatic conditions, to ensure all remaining moisture evaporates.
The SmartCare Center is designed for convenient and automatic shaver maintenance. Before using the cleaning station, it is crucial to ensure the shaver is dry and free from any foam, gel, or soap residue to prevent contamination of the cleaning solution and ensure effective cleaning.
The cleaning cartridge contains a highly flammable liquid, typically ethanol or isopropanol, which naturally evaporates slowly once opened. To prevent leakage, the cleaning station must always be placed on a flat surface. Once a cleaning cartridge is installed, the station should not be tipped, moved suddenly, or transported, as this could cause the cleaning fluid to spill. It is also important not to place the cleaning station inside a mirror cabinet or on polished or lacquered surfaces. The cleaning cartridge should be kept away from sources of ignition, direct sunlight, and radiators. Users must avoid getting the cleaning fluid in their eyes.
The cleaning cartridge is designed for single use and should not be refilled. Only original Braun refill cartridges should be used. Each cartridge, if not used daily, should be replaced approximately every 8 weeks due to the gradual evaporation of the cleaning solution.
The primary maintenance feature of the SmartCare Center involves replacing the cleaning cartridge. When the display shows a red indicator, it signifies that the cartridge is empty and needs to be exchanged. To replace the cartridge, the release button (3) is pressed to open the housing. The used cartridge is then removed, and a new Braun refill cartridge is inserted. It is important to close the openings of the used cartridge with the lid of the new cartridge before disposal, as the used cartridge contains contaminated cleaning solution.
The used cleaning cartridge can be disposed of with household waste or through household hazardous waste programs, depending on local regulations. The product itself contains batteries and/or recyclable electronic waste. For environmental protection, it should not be disposed of with household waste but taken to designated electric waste collection points provided in your country.
Children aged 8 years and above, as well as individuals with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge, can use the appliance if they have been given proper supervision or instruction concerning safe use and understanding of the associated hazards. Children should not play with the appliance, and cleaning and user maintenance should not be performed by children unless they are supervised. If the product comes with a bottle of light machine oil, it should be kept out of reach of children, not ingested, and contact with eyes should be avoided. Empty bottles should be disposed of properly.
