This document describes the Braun PurEase Toaster, available in Type 4117 (models HT 3000, HT 3005, HT 3010, HT 3100, HT 3110) and Type 4116. The toaster is designed for household use and for processing normal household quantities of bread.
Function Description:
The Braun PurEase Toaster is designed to toast various types and sizes of bread. It features a variable browning control with 7 settings (1-7) to achieve the desired toasting level. The toaster includes a bread lift mechanism (4) for inserting and retrieving bread. A stop button (2) allows for manual interruption of the toasting cycle at any time.
Certain models (HT3000/3005/3100 and HT3010/3110) feature specific controls for defrosting and reheating. The defrost button (1) ensures consistent toasting results for both frozen and fresh bread by automatically defrosting the bread before toasting. The reheat button (3) provides a short heating cycle for warming up already toasted bread.
Some models (HT3010/3110) are equipped with a bun warming rack (6), which is designed for warming up buns. This rack should be used by adjusting the browning control to the bun symbol position. The bun warming rack is not suitable for cakes, pizza, baking tins, or whole loaves, and buns should not be wrapped in foil when using it.
For models HT3005, a dust lid (10) is provided to cover the toaster slots when the appliance is not in operation, ensuring clean storage. The dust lid must not be used during operation.
The toaster automatically stops at the end of the toasting cycle, and the bread lift returns to its starting position, causing the bread slices to pop up. If bread becomes jammed in the toaster slot (7), the appliance will still stop automatically. In such cases, the toaster should be unplugged, allowed to cool, and the jammed bread carefully removed with a non-metallic, blunt tool.
Important Technical Specifications:
The toaster operates on a voltage that should correspond to the voltage printed on the bottom of the appliance. It is designed for household use only. The appliance is not intended to be operated by an external timer or separate remote-control system.
Usage Features:
- Operation: To use the toaster, ensure the removable crumb tray (8) is in place and the dust lid (if applicable) is removed. Select the desired browning level using the variable browning control (5). Insert bread into the toaster slot (7) and press down the bread lift (4). The toasting cycle will begin.
- Comfort Lift Function: The bread lift (4) can be shifted further upwards beyond its normal resting position, as indicated by arrows, to make it easier to retrieve smaller items of toast. The bread lift will remain in this elevated position for convenience.
- Defrost Function: For frozen bread, adjust the browning control (5), press down the bread lift (4), and then press the defrost button (1). The toaster will first defrost and then toast the bread.
- Reheat Function: To reheat already toasted bread, press down the bread lift (4) and then press the reheat button (3). The toaster will run for a short cycle to warm the bread.
- Bun Warming Rack (certain models only): To warm buns, adjust the browning control (5) to the bun symbol, then press down the bread lift (4).
- First Use: Before using for the first time, heat the empty toaster 3 times at setting «7» in a well-aired room. This helps to remove any manufacturing odours.
