The BrightLogic Laundry Units are automatic dosing systems designed for commercial washing machines, intended for indoor, fixed installation only. Disconnection means must be incorporated into the fixed wiring with an air gap of at least 3mm in each pole. Pumps are initiated by applying signals of between 90V and 240V AC or DC across corresponding inputs on the powerboard. Signals between 12V and 240V AC or DC can also be accepted by removing resistor packs RP1 to RP4 (see page 9 or 11).
Function Description:
The BrightLogic Laundry Units offer user-programmable signal acceptance time, data management, and auto formula select modes. They feature three flush valve outputs that operate with user-assignable pumps and user-programmable flush valve times. Each pump can be assigned a single input, multiple inputs, or all inputs, with user-selectable speed/flowrate, delay time, and run time/chemical dosage.
The unit operates in three modes:
- Standard Mode: Used with standard host machines. The relevant pump operates when a signal is present for the duration of the signal acceptance time and equals the programmed pulse setting. The pump remains static for the delay time before operating at the programmed speed for the run time or chemical dosage. It will not operate again until the unit resets, either after the final pump's operation or on a signal to input 10.
- Relay Mode: Used with computer-controlled host machines. Pumps operate for the duration of a signal across corresponding inputs (Input 1 for Pump 1, Input 2 for Pump 2, etc.). Data management, flush valve, and machine interrupt features remain active.
- Levels Mode: Used with standard host machines. The relevant pump operates when a signal is present for the duration of the signal acceptance time and equals the programmed pulse setting. The pump remains static for the delay time before operating at the programmed speed for the run time or chemical dosage. Pumps have three individual levels for dosing in each wash program, activated by corresponding inputs (Input 1 for Pump 1, Input 2 for Pump 2, etc.).

Usage Features:
- Programming from a Laptop: All programming procedures can be performed using the BrightLogic computer software, allowing creation and saving of parameter directories for common installations and unit types. Data can be read from the unit to generate Excel spreadsheets for monitoring, testing, and diagnosis. The software is available on request.
- Language Selection: The displayed language can be selected from English, French, German, Spanish, Dutch, Czech, Polish, American Italian, or Portuguese.
- Signal Acceptance Time: User-programmable time (00-99 seconds) for a signal to be present to activate a pump.
- Assigning Manifolds: Pumps can be assigned to up to three manifolds (flush valves). The flush valve of an assigned manifold opens when its pump runs.
- Flush Valve Mode: Two operational modes: "During & After" (valve opens 1 second before pump starts, stays open during pump run, and for programmed time after stop) and "After Only" (valve opens only after pump stops for programmed time).
- Flush Valve Safety Stop: Optional feature with flow and pressure switches. If no water is present or pressure is too low, the buzzer sounds and output is disabled.
- Pump Run Speed/Flowrate: Individual pump speeds (30%-100% in 5% increments) can be set to reduce strain with thick products. Alternatively, flowrates can be programmed, with counters displaying total dosage.
- Selecting Input: Each pump can be assigned to a single input, multiple inputs, or all inputs. BrightLogic units have a maximum of 10 inputs.
- Pulse Count: User can set the number of signal pulses required for a pump to run (01-99, or "ALL" for every signal).
- Enabling Pumps: Pumps can be enabled or disabled for specific inputs.
- Pump Delay Time: User-settable delay (00 minutes 00 seconds to 99 minutes 59 seconds) before a pump starts.
- Dosage/Run Time: Dosage (ml or fl/oz) or run time (00 minutes 00 seconds to 99 minutes 59 seconds) can be set for each pump.
- Reset Condition: Unit can reset after the last pump runs, with "Feature Off" (for tunnel machines with PULSE COUNT set to "ALL," allowing program change anytime a pump is not running), or on a signal to input 10 (if fabric softener is not used). A cycle timeout (5-995 minutes, default 60 minutes) provides an automatic reset if no trigger is received within 1 hour of program selection.
- Reset Delay: User-settable delay (00 minutes 00 seconds to 99 minutes 59 seconds) before the unit resets, ready for the next wash.
- Resetting Program Options: Allows resetting formulas to default, program 00 (blank), previous program, or any program number.
- Auto Formula Select Mode: Two modes: "Binary" (uses input signals 1-5 to select programs based on binary values) and "Timed" (activates after a signal to AFS for a set time, then selects program based on signal presence).
- Summary Screen: Displays current program number, pump status, and input status.
- Creating/Copying/Deleting Programs: New programs can be created, existing programs copied, or programs deleted.
- Cycle Counters: Displays total run time (or chemical dosage) and total cycles for each pump, which can be zeroed.
- Wireless USB Settings: Allows configuration of Bluetooth (RF Channel) settings.
- Priming/Stopping Pumps: Pumps can be primed individually or stopped.
- View Mode: Allows viewing of Program Settings and Cycle Counters without editing.
- Pulse Test: Displays a numerical counter for each input, showing the number of signals received.
- Software/Serial Number: Displays software version and serial number.
- Test Mode: Allows testing of keypad, pump stop, prime, and view modes.
Maintenance Features:
- Safety Precautions: Emphasizes not opening the enclosure without isolating power, ensuring proper disconnection, mounting on stable surfaces, avoiding heavy objects on top, keeping items out of pumpheads, using correct power, and avoiding damaged cables or modifications.
- Chemical Handling: Always ensure care when handling chemicals.
- Warranty: All Brightwell dispensers are guaranteed for two years against defects in materials and faulty workmanship. Peristaltic tubing is not guaranteed. Advice on chemical compatibility is offered, but the guarantee does not cover problems caused by chemical incompatibility.
- Environmental Protection: The device contains materials that can be recovered or recycled. Users are encouraged to dispose of it at a local civic waste collection point.
