1.2.6 Cleaning the OPC Belt Cartridge
The OPC belt cartridge should be cleaned according to the periodic maintenance
cleaning cycle set out in Table 6-3.
PRECAUTION
• Do not directly touch the OPC belt surface with bare
hands or gloves.
• If the belt is exposed for more than two minutes to a light
source of 800 lux, the belt may be damaged.
<Tools to Prepare>
1) Cotton cloth (2

3 pieces)
2) Cleaning brush (supplied with the printer)
<Cleaning Procedure>
1) Turn off the power supply.
2) Open the top cover and the front cover.
3) Release the belt cartridge lock levers to pull out the OPC belt cartridge.
4) Clean the OPC belt cartridge.
i) Remove any toner on the
corona wire with the brush
supplied with the printer.

ii) Clean the OPC belt cartridge
case with a cotton cloth.

CAUTION
• Be sure to dry the OPC belt cartridge completely when cleaning it with a damp
cotton cloth.
• Do not clean the OPC belt cartridge by using any solvents.
