3. INSTALLATION WORK
Install the unit parts of the starter kit into the printer according to the following
procedures:
3.1 Install the OPC Belt Cartridge
PRECAUTION
• Do not directly touch the OPC belt surface with bare
hands or gloves.
• If the belt is exposed for more than two minutes to a light
source of 800 lux, the belt may be damaged.
1) Open the front cover and the top cover
by releasing the latches.
CAUTION
When installing or removing the OPC belt,
be sure to open the front cover first.
Failure to do so will cause the OPC belt
to be damaged due to contact with the
toner cartridges.

2) Release the belt cartridge lock levers
(left & right).

3) Pull and remove the tension release
pins on both sides (left & right) of the
OPC belt cartridge.
4) Remove the protective sheet from the
new OPC belt cartridge.
