<User Check>
- Check that there is no dust in the clearance between the toner
cartridge and the drum unit.
- Replace the toner cartridge with a new one.
- Check the machine's environment. High temperature and high
humidity or low temperature and low humidity conditions can cause
this problem.
- Damp (wet) paper may be used. Change the paper with undamped
one.
- Replace the drum unit with a new one.
- Leave the machine for a while with the power switch ON.
Step Cause Remedy
1 Laser unit failure Replace the laser unit.

- This problem may disappear after printing several sheets of paper.
When the machine has not been used for a long time, try printing
several sheets of paper.
- Replace the drum unit with a new one.
- Replace the toner cartridge with a new one.

Dirt on electrodes of the drum unit
and those of the machine
Clean the electrodes of the drum unit and
those of the machine. (Refer to Fig. 2-10
and Fig. 2-11.)

- Check that the machine is installed on a level surface.
- Replace the toner cartridge with a new one.
Step Cause Remedy
1 Main PCB failure Replace the main PCB ASSY.
2 Laser unit failure Replace the laser unit.
3 Fuser unit failure Replace the fuser unit.
