Removal
Remove the STBD side cover. Refer to side cover
Removal and Installation on p. 177.
Remove recoil starter (rope start models). Refer to
starter REMOVAL on p. 219.
Remove flywheel cover (electric start models).
Refer to ignition COMPONENT SERVICING on
p. 99.
Tiller models:
• Unscrew the starter cable lock nut, then remove
starter cable with starter plunger.
Remote models:
• Disconnect the auto-enrichener lead wire con-
nector.
Remove two screws securing plate.
Remove two screws securing carburetor.
Remove plate, outlet tube, carburetor, gasket,
insulator, and gasket.
Detach fuel hose from carburetor inlet.
