MANUAL STARTER
REMOVAL

REMOVAL
Loosen lock nuts and remove NSI cable from
cable bracket.
Remove NSI cable from clutch shaft plate.
Loosen the clamp securing breather hose, then
remove breather hose from starter case.
Loosen clamp securing outlet tube to starter case.
Remove three screws securing recoil starter.
Remove starter.
WARNING
Avoid accidental starting of engine while
servicing, twist and remove all spark plug
leads.
Wear safety glasses while disassembling
and assembling manual starters to avoid
personal injury caused by rewind spring
tension.
