9. Transpor
t of the kart
If the carburetor is still filled with fuel, the kart is only allowed to be transported in a horizontal
position.
If the kart is to be transported in a vertical position, the fuel must be drained from the carburetor
first.
¿ Note: If the kart is in a vertical position during transport, the remaining fuel in the
carburetor might flow into the crankcase with the result that the engine will not start
at the next try.
Æ Remove drain screw (pos. 27, Fig. 2 on float chamber of carburetor and collect the
fuel in a suitable container.
Æ Clean drain screw and refit.
10. Pre
servation of engine and equipment
For longer periods out of operation (winter time), make sure that the engine will be properly
preserved.
Æ Detach carburetor, drain fuel from carburetor and close carburetor openings to
ensure that no dust or dirt can enter.
Æ If the vehicle is stored at temperatures below freezing, the cooling system must be
filled with a mixture of distilled water and an aluminum-compatible antifreeze.
The mixture must ensure protection against freezing to a temperature of
20 °C / -4 ° F. Or drain the entire cooling system and clean the cooling circuit with
air pressure.
p Warning: Not following this will lead to engine damage (e.g. breakage of cylinder).
Æ Close intake and exhaust port of engine so that they are airtight with adhesive tape.
Æ Apply oil on exhaust system to prevent corrosion.
Æ Remove battery from the fixture and charge periodically with the specified battery
charger.
