The paper position and filter switching are now synchronized.
11. Turn the INPUT SECTION ATTENUATOR and GAIN CONTROL knobs of the Measur-
ing Amplifier to their extreme clockwise position and apply the signal to be analyzed.
12. Set the RANGE switch on the Band Pass Filter to "Lin" and step the INPUT SEC-
TION ATTENUATOR knob of the Measuring Amplifier to obtain a suitable meter def-
lection without the INPUT OVERLOAD lamp lighting.
If the deflection is insufficient even when the INPUT SECTION ATTENUATOR is in its
extreme anticlockwise position, then stop the OUTPUT SECTION ATTENUATOR knob
until a suitable deflection is obtained without overload.
13. Set the PEN DRIVE button of the Level Recorder to "On".
14. Set the RANGE switch on the Band Pass Filter back to its ""2 Hz 20 kHz A
Lin"" mode and press the right-hand FILTER CONTROL MODE switch to "Run" to
commence recording.
The Level Recorder will start and will drive the frequency graduated paper forward until
the end of the chart. Each time the pen passes the chart position for a filter change, the
1618 will step to the next frequency band under the control of the Level Recorder. At
the end of the analysis the 1618 resets itself to the correct starting frequency.
To record another analysis, use the PAPER ADJUSTMENT wheel to advance the paper to
the correct starting position on the next chart and press the right-hand FILTER CONTROL
MODE switch to "Run" to start recording. Do not set the POWER and PAPER DRIVE but-
tons to "Off", or the exact filter shift position will be lost.
4.2. USE WITH LEVEL RECORDER TYPE 2307
The instrument arrangement for automatic recording of octave and third octave analyses
with the 2307 Level Recorder is shown in Fig.4.3. For application of the Level Recorder
filter shift pulses to the RECORDER CONTROL I socket of the 1618 Band Pass Filter, the
Remote Control Cable AQ 0035 is required.
