The
functions
of
this
four
position
switch
are
:-
"Off.".
No
power
is
supplied
to
the
instrument
with
the
switch
in
this
position.
"Batt.".
Provides a
battery
check.
If
the
deflection
of
the
meter
needle
be
below
the
region
marked
"Battery"
then
the
battery
must
be re-
placed.
(See
section
3.1.).
"Fast"
&
"Slow".
Give
the
"fast"
and
"slow"
meter
responses
respec-
tively.
"A",
"C".
Selects
one
of
the
standardized
frequency
weighting
net-
works
. (See
section
3.7.).
"Lin
.
".
Gives
a
linear
frequency
response
within
the
range
limits
of
the
instrument.
A
ten
position
switch
controlling
the
gain
of
the
input
amplifier
in
1 0 dB steps
from
30
dB
to
1
20
dB.
The RANGE SWITCH
setting
ap-
pears
in
the
"RANGE
INDICATOR"
window
on
the
meter
scale.
Depressing
this
button
adds a
further
10
dB
to
the
measuring
range.
When
used,
10
dB
must
be added
to
all
readings.
A
standard
microsocket
accepting
B & K cables
fitted
with
microplugs
(e.g.
AO
0037)
(see
section
3.7.).
An
adjustable
screw
potentiometer
used
for
calibration
purposes,
pro-
viding
a
change
in
the
gain
of
the
amplifier
of
12
dB (see
section
3.4.).
Two
quarter
inch
bushes
permit
the
2206
to
be
attached
to
a
tripod,
a
pistol
grip
or
a
wrist
strap.
