6.2.1. Octave Filter Set 1613
This
filter
set
is
designed
for
octave analysis
of
noise
and
vibration.
It
fits
onto the meter
with
four
screws
thus making one compact
and
portable
unit.
There
are
11
octave filters
with
centre frequencies arranged
from
31.5 Hz
to
31.5 kHz in accordance
with
IEC standards. Hence the overall frequency
range
covered
is
22
Hz
to
45 kHz, which includes the entire audio-frequency
range.
Each
filter
satisfies the requirements
of
I
EC
Recommendation 225
and
ANSI
S1,
11
class
11
and
has
a
response
shown in F ig.6.11. They may
be
switched in successively by
means
of
the selector switch. A linear position,
where the filters
are
by-passed,
is
also
possible.
With the
WEIGHTING SWITCH in position
"Off",
the attenuation
of
the
filters
is
0 dB ± 0.5 dB.
