4. Select other software applications to get information about
them.
5. Press the <OK> soft key to return to the Applications
menu.
3.2.3 How to Update, Upgrade or Install Applications
Application software for Type2260 is protected for unauthor-
ized usage. The software is supplied with a license code by
the combination of the application number, the version
number and the serial number of the Type2260. The applica-
tion software can then only be installed on one particular Type
2260 – the one with the serial number encoded in the license
code

1 Until April 2002 the application software was delivered on PCMCIA cards. The appli-
cation was then installed from the application card (could only be done once) and
could be uninstalled by putting it back on the application card for installation on
another Type 2260. Applications already installed in the Type 2260 using the PCMCIA
cards can be updated or upgraded as described in this section – however, once
updated or upgraded they are locked to the Type 2260 serial number and can not be
uninstalled to the PCMCIA card again.
Note: The <Install New> and <Uninstall> soft keys on the System, Applications
menu are used to install or uninstall application software using the PCMCIA cards
(Type 2260 Investigator only).
